The client is seeking a Senior Test Engineer on a contract basis to support ongoing projects.

Anticipated services include: 

• Working within an Agile development team to ensure the quality and reliability of business applications.
• Collaborating with solution architects, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop effective test strategies.
• Designing, developing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
• Performing functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, and user acceptance testing.
• Identifying, documenting, tracking, and verifying software defects using defect management tools.
• Validating application functionality, APIs, databases, and integrations to ensure business and technical requirements are met.
• Working closely with developers to troubleshoot issues, verify defect fixes, and support root cause analysis.

Project Description and Services Required:

The projects include further planned upgrades to Saanich’s SCADA systems, Waste Management Systems, Field Devices Expansion, Meeting/Conference Room Technology, and Operations Centre buildouts. The successful candidate will work with multiple departments including IT, Public Works/Engineering, Fire Rescue, Facilities, and both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the delivery, adoption, and acceptance of these system and technological enhancements. The client organization will be migrating applications hosted on virtual servers at various on-prem data centers to the Azure Cloud. Migrations will occur in phases over a prolonged period of time (likely a number of years).

Anticipated services include:

The Project Services department is responsible for delivering a wide range of IT infrastructure projects for the Health Authorities of British Columbia. One of these key initiatives is to migrate Health Authority applications from On-Prem data centers to the cloud.
