Our Surrey area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking an Expert Project Manager on a contract basis to support activities within Digital Patient and Provider Experience.

 

Project Description:

The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) is transitioning from its existing Home Care Reporting System (HCRS) and Continuing Care Reporting System (CCRS) to a new Integrated RAI Reporting System (IRRS). Consequently, the client’s current processes and software require updating. The Ministry of Health has mandated Health Authorities to align their reporting systems with CIHI’s new Integrated InterRAI Reporting System (IRRS).

As part of this we require an experienced Project Manager, who will work with the client’s team to support the implementation of this new system.

The project is anticipated to be approximately 18 months to 2 years in length.

 

Anticipated services include:

The Project Manager will work under the direction of leadership and be embedded within the DPPE -Community portfolio and will be required to deliver project and portfolio planning activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Manage the project based on PMO Project Lifecycle and related project policies, standards, tools and templates.
  • Actively oversee project team members, vendors, and deliverables.
  • Proactively plan detailed project activities.
  • Act as liaison between all project stakeholders to reach common understanding.
  • Document and manage resolution of issues, mitigate risks, and obtain decisions.
  • Track and manage the project to scope, budget and schedule baselines.
  • Manage project changes formally.
  • Regularly report financial forecasting and project status.
  • Establish timeline and work plan based on internal and external stakeholders requirements.
  • Produce/manage the following deliverables:
    • Change requests, budget, and other required documentation
    • Summarize and organize existing documentation
    • Draft milestone schedules and project governance structure
    • Risk and issue registers
    • Project status reports
    • Stakeholder communications
    • Go Live plan
  • Review and verify content of vendors’ agreements and coordinate activities related to procurement process.
  • Work with technical and clinical stake holders as required.
  • Identify and integrate both technical and clinical requirements into project planning and implementation.
  • Coordinate between groups within and external as required.

Must Haves
  • Both project management expertise and change management experience in health care environments with a minimum 5 years recent experience in Healthcare with a particular focus on IT systems and operational support.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale health care integration or digital transformation projects.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing projects to implement business systems.
  • In addition to PMP , Prosci or other formal Change Management certification is an asset.
  • Proponent shall possess strong English language oral and written communication skills.
  • Proponent shall possess strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • It is an asset if the proponent possesses experience or knowledge of specific Health Authority administrative business process and applications, specifically within the Home Health/Home Care and Long Term Care arenas.
  • The consultant must be available to travel and meet in the Vancouver, BC Lower Mainland area.
  • The project is anticipated to be approximately 18 months to 2 years in length.
