Our Surrey area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking a Senior Communications Consultant on a contract basis to support the Intranet Cloud Modernization Project.

 

Project Description:

The Intranet Cloud Modernization project aims to consolidate and migrate two existing intranet platforms – Pulse (all staff) and Management Centre (for leaders) – from SharePoint 2016 infrastructure to SharePoint Online. This modernization effort is aligned with the Digital Health strategy and is designed to deliver a secure, scalable, and user-friendly intranet experience that supports internal communications, policy access, and organizational navigation.

 

Anticipated services include:

 

Scope of Work:

  • Advise of site information architecture and design to ensure a user-friendly experience that meets the needs of clinical and corporate staff
  • Establish and document governance frameworks for intranet content creation, publishing workflows, and editorial responsibilities
  • Review and rewrite existing content for clarity, consistency and usability
  • Build and publish SharePoint Online pages using approved templates and web parts
  • Ensure all pages meet technical and editorial standards, including metadata tagging and search optimization
  • Liaise with content owners to gather requirements, provide guidance and support content migration
  • Facilitate workshops and one-on-one sessions to support adoption and publishing processes

Deliverables

  • Intranet governance framework and standards documentation
  • Reviewed and rewritten content for migrated intranet pages
  • SharePoint Online page templates and completed builds
  • Stakeholder engagement summaries and feedback reports
  • Training materials and quick-reference guides for content owners and editors

Timeline: August 2025 – March 31, 2026

Must Haves
  • Education in communications or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience within in health care, preference within Health Authority
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, including page design, permissions and content management
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft 365 applications
  • Expertise in writing for the web, content governance and user-centered design
  • Skilled in working with cross-functional teams and facilitating stakeholder input
