Our Surrey area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking a Senior Project Manager on a part-time, contract basis to support activities within Clinical Ancillary Solutions.

 

Project Description:

Cortexflo is a specialized system designed for conducting and documenting forensic medical examinations. It consists of digital photography hardware and application, providing high-definition photographs, markup functionalities within the application, and adherence to security requirements for documenting injuries and physical evidence for forensic medical and legal cases.

The Cortexflo system has been in use at the Forensic Nursing Services (FNS) departments at SMH and ARH since 2023. The current Cortexflo system was a pilot implementation with minimal functionality and this limitation has been impacting patient care, nursing workflow, and forensic accuracy which are crucial for legal investigations and court proceedings.

This project will upgrade the Cortexflo system and provision servers at the Data Center for the Cortexflo database. This upgrade will utilize the full functionality of the Cortexflo system, improve workflow efficiency and enable the Forensic Nursing Departments to deliver accurate, reliable services that support both patient care and legal processes.

 

Anticipated services include:

We are seeking a single Project Manager to oversee and guide strategy discussions, and the replacement or upgrade of systems required to support Forensic Nursing Services. This engagement will be a maximum of 0.5 FTE. 

The Project Manager will be required to deliver the following services:

  • Provide project leadership and coordination for the successful replacement or upgrade of the systems components required to support Invasive Cardiology
  • Provide hands-on analysis as needed to finalize requirements.
  • Work with various departments and staff and Tech Services, as well as with the external vendors and other operational areas.

The Project Manager will work closely and collaboratively with Digital Provider and Patient Experience (DPPE), Tech Services and the clinical area regarding solution strategy, delivery and change management for this project. The Project Manager will also direct and coordinate the efforts to implement and manage the changes necessary to ensure a smooth transition to the upgraded solution. Consulting with Digital Provider and Patient Experience (DPPE) and clinical departments, the Project Manager will provide:

  • Project planning activities
  • Gather requirements and conduct analysis where applicable.
  • Develop project charter and other project governance deliverables
  • Develop and oversee the maintenance and execution of the project plan and guide the project team through the implementation of the project
  • Oversee the delivery of the project on a daily basis to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, within scope, and meeting the expected level of quality. This includes providing direction to and managing the work effort of project resources
  • Adhere to PMO project lifecycle processes
  • Manage project risks, issues and change requests
  • Produce regular and ad hoc status reports for project stakeholders
  • Facilitate the resolution of problems encountered by team members
  • Work with the clinical stakeholders to manage change.
  • Work with vendors to manage the successful delivery and implementation of project components.
  • Assume other related duties such as coordinating core technical infrastructure changes, coordinating project activities with departments and staff at Fraser Health, Tech Services and the vendor
  • Conduct post-implementation review and lessons learned documentation

Must Haves
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience in healthcare with a particular focus on IT systems and operational support
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing projects to implement business systems
  • Proponent shall possess experience and skills to prepare meeting materials and take minutes
  • Proponent shall possess strong English language oral and written communication skills
  • Proponent shall possess strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
Nice to Haves
  • It is an asset if the proponent possesses experience or knowledge of specific Health Authority administrative business processes and applications
  • It is an asset if the proponent possesses previous experience with Forensic Nursing or any Forensic System
  • It is an asset if the candidate possesses a PMP certification
