Our Burnaby area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking a Senior Project Manager on a contract basis to support Regional Digital Solutions.

 

Project Description:

The Regional Digital Solutions team is responsible for supporting IT system solutions that deliver the safe and consistent patient care across three British Columbia health organizations: Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Providence Health Care (PHC). As a team, we continually strive to improve patient safety and improve information system reliability and sustainability.

 

Anticipated services include:

  • Backfill for other Project Managers working directly on projects
  • Develop/manage project plans (budget, schedule, risk, etc) with input from Project Team Members and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate/coordinate project communications
  • Maintain and update program status reports and dashboard
  • Identify and manage organizational change requirements for the project working with the clinical informatics lead
  • Manage project scope change processes, and acquire approvals as required
  • Manage Project Team performance of project tasks
  • Control, track and report on the execution of the project plan and day-to-day aspects of the project
  • Control, track and report on project financials (budgeted, planned and spent)
  • Control, track and report on current and forecast resource usage
  • Control, track and report on issues and risks identified for the project
  • Escalate significant issues that cannot be resolved by the Project Team
  • Secure acceptance and approval of deliverables from the Sponsor and Stakeholders
  • Schedule and chair Project Team meetings
  • Coordinate efforts and resources with various vendors
  • Documents all findings and recommendations
  • Transition project deliverables to Operations (Production Turnover/PTO)
  • Submit regular status reports to the PMO, Program Management and Program Steering Committee
  • Perform project management processes as per PMO standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Must Haves
  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, project management including training and/or experience in leading and coordinating all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the program
  • Five (5) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups
  • Project Management Professional designation considered an asset
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge and experience with agile as well as waterfall project management concepts practices, and deliverables
  • Ability to effectively navigate and deliver results in a large and complex environment is necessary
  • Solid understanding of how various technologies fit together in an ecosystem to deliver services
  • Understanding of the existing CST operations and landscape
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts and topics in layman’s terms to non-subject matter experts and build consensus and credibility among diverse stakeholder groups
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and complete multiple tasks
  • Exceptional MS Office and MS Project skills
