Our Burnaby area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking a Training Specialist on a contract basis to support Finance and Internal Audit activities.

 

Project Description:

We are seeking an experienced training/learning specialist to develop and deliver leadership training materials in the areas of (1) Operational Management and (2) Financial Management in a public sector environment.  Content and subject matter expertise will be provided by the client, and it is expected that the consultant will translate that content into suitable leadership training materials to be delivered to an audience of leaders (managers and above) across all departments within.  It is expected that the work will take place between January 13, 2025 and March 31, 2025.  The following are the learning objectives of the two modules to be developed:

Module 1: Overview of Operational Management

This course will cover:

  • What is operational management?
  • Operational accountability, planning and execution.
  • Operational organization, delegation, and oversight.
  • How to manage to objectives and measure performance/success.
  • Monitoring and continuous improvement. 

Module 2: Fundamentals of Financial Management

This course will cover:

  • What is financial management?
  • What are the guiding principles for effective financial management?
  • Elements of client’s Financial Management Framework
  • How financial management relates to managing operations and prioritizing activities.
  • Your role and responsibilities for financial management.

 

 Anticipated services include:

  • Develop training material (powerpoint presentations, case studies, etc.) for the two modules mentioned above, using language and materials that are appropriate for a broad group of leaders across various departments.
  • Deliver the training in recorded and live sessions to leaders

Must Haves
  • Strong presentation skills and experience delivering training to all levels of leadership, including executives;
  • Ability to break-down complicated content into simplified forms that can be deliver to a wide range of audiences with varying knowledge levels and experience;
  • Knowledge of the health care and public sector environment and the fiduciary responsibilities of management.
