Our Burnaby area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking a Project Director on a contract basis to support Provincial Digital Services activities.

 

Project Description: 

Provincial Digital Services (PDS) delivers provincial digital health strategies and business transformations by relentlessly focusing on the end user and the end-to-end health services journey for everyone in British Columbia. We concentrate on the design and delivery of digital health tools and platforms to support the ongoing evolution of a connected health system and digitally enabled health care. By collaborating with all provincial health sector partners, we ensure an equitable approach to addressing health sector priorities.

PDS is part of the Provincial Digital Health & Information Services (PDHIS) portfolio that was formed in July 2022 to enable our BC health system more effectively digitally and virtually.  PDHIS brings together many organizational units from different parts of the organization into one portfolio and includes a close partnership with the Ministry of Health to deliver on the BC Digital Health Strategy.

Within PDS, there are numerous initiatives that will require assistance for longer term planning and short-term execution of deliverables, as well as providing business positioning and support for future projects.

 

Anticipated services include:

The proponent will provide consulting, advisory support, facilitation, and written deliverables to support planning and decision-making across on the Digital Referrals and Orders Program. Work includes support for delivery planning (plan, budget, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, and risks), development of recommended technical workflows and Health Authority delivery strategies as well as preparation of briefing materials suitable for executive and governance review.

 

Deliverables

  • Supplementary briefing note(s) on technical workflows, processes, and integration opportunities for acute site deployment options for Digital Referrals and Orders
  • Benefit realization approach for a proposed system implementation (qualitative and quantitative measures, baseline considerations, and reporting approach)

Must Haves

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree in business, administration, computer science or project management including training and/or experience in leading and coordinating large programs of project delivery work:

  • 12-15 years of experience as Project/Program/Portfolio Manager.
  • Experience leading Project Managers and teams to execute projects to a successful closure.
  • Strong supervisory and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional MS Office and Project Management toolset skills.
  • Strong forward thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create strong partnerships and build trust with multiple stakeholders and team members with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to explain complex technical and clinical concepts and topics in common terms to non-subject matter experts and build consensus and credibility among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings, supporting large clinical service delivery initiatives or transformation programs.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid project management concepts, practices, and deliverables
  • Extensive experience with project financials and project options analysis, briefing notes, and business cases.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
  • Experience working within the BC Health Sector is highly preferred.
