Our Surrey area client is a leader in the support and provision of healthcare services to the British Columbia public.

The client is seeking a Senior Project Manager on a half-time, contract basis to support Digital Enablement  – Clinical Ancillary Solutions activities.

Project Description:

The project will modernize and replace the Stryker LIFENET Alert system at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) and Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) to ensure uninterrupted, secure transmission of pre-hospital ECG alerts from BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) to hospital cardiac teams. This system is critical for early triage and rapid Code STEMI activation before patients arrive. With vendor support ending in December 2026, the current platform poses growing operational, security, licensing, and interoperability risks for over 100 clinicians who rely on these alerts for time-sensitive cardiac care.

Since LIFENET end-of-life support concludes in December 2026; a replacement solution must be initiated in advance to ensure continuity and alignment. The scope includes procuring and implementing the latest LIFENET solution, upgrading required infrastructure and licensing, validating interoperability with BCEHS systems, standardizing workflows across all sites, and training clinical teams. All LIFENET sites will be upgraded and aligned by March 2027, ensuring a stable, compliant, and provincially aligned ECG alerting workflow.

Anticipated services include:

Our client is seeking a single Project Manager to lead and coordinate the planning, upgrade, and implementation of the LIFENET ECG alerting platform, including the replacement of end-of-life components and alignment with provincial standards. This engagement will be up to a maximum of 0.5 FTE.

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering the following services:

  • Assess the current LIFENET environment, including system capabilities, workflows, interoperability, and support status; identify gaps and risks; and develop recommendations that address short-term continuity needs and long-term provincial alignment.
  • Provide overall project leadership and coordination for the procurement, replacement, and implementation of the LIFENET solution, including supporting infrastructure, licensing, and site standardization.
  • Conduct hands-on analysis as required to finalize functional, technical, and interoperability requirements, including validation with BCEHS systems.
  • Collaborate with clinical, technical, and operational teams, Technology Services, external vendors, and regional partners to ensure coordinated delivery, standardized workflows, and effective change management.

The Project Manager will work closely and collaboratively with Digital Enablement team, Tech Services and the clinical area regarding solution strategy, delivery and change management for this project. The Project Manager will also direct and coordinate the efforts to implement and manage the changes necessary to ensure a smooth transition to the new or upgraded solution. Consulting with DPPE and clinical departments, the Project Manager will provide:

  • Project planning activities
  • Gather requirements and conduct analysis where applicable.
  • Develop project charter and other project governance deliverables
  • Develop and oversee the maintenance and execution of the project plan and guide the project team through the implementation of the project
  • Oversee the delivery of the project daily to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, within scope, and meeting the expected level of quality. This includes providing direction to and managing the work effort of project resources
  • Adhere to PMO project lifecycle processes
  • Manage project risks, issue and change requests
  • Produce regular and ad hoc status reports for project stakeholders
  • Facilitate the resolution of problems encountered by team members
  • Work with the clinical stakeholders to manage change.
  • Work with vendors to manage the successful delivery and implementation of project components.

Assume other related duties such as coordinating core technical infrastructure changes, coordinating project activities with departments and staff at the client organization, Tech Services and the vendor

  • Conduct post-implementation review and lesson learned and transition to operations documentation
