The client is seeking a Senior Project Manager on a contract basis to support Digital Health Innovation (DHI) activities.

 

Project Description:

DHI delivers provincial digital health strategies and business transformations by relentlessly focusing on the end user and the end-to-end health services journey for everyone in British Columbia. We concentrate on the design and delivery of digital health tools and platforms to support the ongoing evolution of a connected health system and digitally enabled health care. By collaborating with all provincial health sector partners, we ensure an equitable approach to addressing health sector priorities. 

 

DHI is part of the Provincial Digital Health & Information Services (PDHIS) portfolio that was formed in July 2022 to enable our BC health system more effectively digitally and virtually. PDHIS brings together many organizational units from different areas into one portfolio and includes a close partnership with the Ministry of Health to deliver on the BC Digital Health Strategy. 

 

We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Site Lead / Senior Project Manager to join our team to onboard clinics with an eReferral and eOrder platform. This role offers the potential to work across various delivery projects within our expanding portfolio. The Project Manager/Site Lead, working closely with Site Facilitators, Intake Coordinators, and Clinicians and will play a key role in leading clinic/ site activations, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring a successful onboarding experience for providers.  With a focus on flexibility and growth, this position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of delivery projects (e.g., site deployments/activations, new service delivery). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with clinics, hospital staff, physicians, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring the seamless implementation of projects.

 

Anticipated services include:

  • Lead site onboarding project(s) and coordinate efforts to achieve project objectives within timelines, scope and budget.
  • Collaborate with clinics, hospital staff, physicians, and other stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, Health Authorities, Doctors of BC, and vendors, to ensure project success
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned sites, maintaining open communication, and managing relationships with stakeholders
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks proactively to mitigate potential negative impacts on project outcomes
  • Coordinate and chair project meetings, facilitate effective communication among project resources, and document findings and recommendations
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and relevant committees on project progress
  • Develop and maintain timely comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and records, to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Manage project scope changes and obtain necessary approvals
  • Control project financials, resource usage, issues, and risks
  • Escalate significant issues and collaborate with stakeholders to find solutions
  • Perform project management processes in accordance with PMO standards
  • Adapt to changing project needs and priorities, contributing to the success of various delivery projects within the portfolio
  • Other duties as required

Must Haves
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, or project management, including training and/or experience in leading and coordinating all aspects of a project:
  • Five (5) years’ recent, related experience in working in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with delivering digital solutions to health care sites, project management and facilitating consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups, including the vendor community
  • Extensive experience communicating with clinical/non-clinical staff, senior leadership, and other stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple Agile projects simultaneously
  • Proven leadership abilities and a strong track record
  • Forward-thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of how various technologies fit together in a provincial health ecosystem to deliver services
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing project needs and priorities
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred
  • Experience working in BC Health Authorities considered an asset
  • Knowledge of OceanMD and EMR / CIS systems considered a strong asset
